This visit seeks to strengthen international cooperation ties that allow the development of projects to improve its services. According to Adriana Colmenares, Director of Promotion and Corporate Relations: “it is a strategic opportunity to promote the human talent we train and our institutional capacity to promote employment, entrepreneurship and the development of innovation and science in Colombia,” focused on the 4.0 Revolution, Creative Industries, the Orange Economy, and applied research.

"Entity will participate in the Universal Exhibition in order to attract new business opportunities, foreign investment and contribute to the economic reactivation of the country."

The General Director of the Entity Carlos Mario Estrada Molina indicates that: “with the exhibition of 12 valuable initiatives, among which are ventures and research projects that use the 4.0 industry technologies, such as big data, artificial intelligence, freeze-drying of food, among others, we will show the added value that SENA talent generates for the different economic sectors”.
Five apprentices who integrate applied research projects, four who are receiving training in the Organization and Event Logistics program of the Boyacá, Bolívar, and Norte de Santander regionals, and 2 more from the barista training program in Antioquia and Quindío will attend the contest. They will have the possibility to demonstrate the technical and socio-emotional skills obtained in their learning process, have a cultural exchange experience, learn about new trends and expand their knowledge. They will travel with 2 instructors from the Capital District and Boyacá, and they committed to replicate their experience one once they return to Colombia.
Similarly, 5 SENNOVA projects and 5 entrepreneurs supported by the institution will be part of the commission, to carry out an exploratory exercise of the market in the MESA region, consisting of Africa, South Asia and the Middle East and advance in the internationalization of its business units in a setting with more than 3,000 million inhabitants.
“With the participation of SENA in 2015 at Expo Milan, we reached cooperation agreements that have positively impacted the offer of our Entity and contributed to the social and economic development of the country. In said world contest, alliances were made with Italian entities, such as the Italian-Latin American International Organization, through which, even today, hundreds of Colombians who place their trust in the services of our institution benefit,” the Director General points out.
The exhibition, which takes place between October 1, 2021 and March 31, 2022, will bring together 200 participants from nations, organizations, companies and educational institutions, with the expectation of registering 8 thousand daily visits in the Colombia Pavilion , for a total of 1 million 500 thousand attendees in its 182. In this way, Colombia will start Vision 2030, designed with the United Arab Emirates to strengthen bilateral trade relations, which today represent a trade close to US $ 250 million.
International cooperation comprises a fundamental pillar for SENA, because it makes it possible to extend the democratization of first-rate knowledge for all Colombians and contribute to the economic and social development of the country.
