SENA CHOCÓ HAS THE FIRST SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT CENTER IN THE COLOMBIAN PACIFIC COAST.

This year SENA launched the first Software Development Center in Quibdó, the third one in Colombia, the other two are located in Popayán and Medellín. This training environment was created thanks to the partnership between SENA and the strategic technological consultancy Everis.
This talent ecosystem will reduce the digital gap and inequality in the country, and technological apprentices in Data Network Management, from the Center for Natural Resources, Industry, and Biodiversity of SENA Chocó will carry out their internships with the Spanish company Everis.

The learning environment, which had an investment of 640 million pesos, has 41 job positions for the analysis and development of systems- In addition, the center will generate new jobs in the Department, stimulating the region’s industry. Currently, eight apprentices have already signed apprenticeship contracts.
Carlos Mario Estrada Molina, general director of SENA emphasized that “This global tech firm (Everis) gives some of our students the opportunity to have dignified, and stable jobs, as stated repeatedly by President Iván Duque Márquez”.
Since the inauguration of the Software Development Center, robotic updating processes have been developed, and data analysis projects have been carried out to improve the SENA Sofia Plus platform.
The SENA apprentices linked to Everis join the more than 27 thousand professionals in Europe, the USA and Latin America, who contribute with their talent to this consulting and outsourcing company, which covers all sectors of the economic field.
Modernization of the training environment
The Center for Natural Resources, Industry, and Biodiversity of SENA in Chocó, modernized an audio and video training environment, with a total investment of 240 million pesos. This training environment has 19 workstations and a state-of-the-art recording booth that will benefit more than 100 apprentices annually in training programs associated with the creative industries.
