A group of reintegrated people in Saravena, supported by SENA through the SER (SENA Emprende Rural) program with training and supplies, formed a pig production unit to strengthen their Cooperative CoePaz.
Through this program, the Arauca Regional provides training and supplies to strengthen Productive Units in the rural sector of the department. And thanks to this, a group of reintegrated workers and their families make up this cooperative dedicated to pig farming.
The innovative characteristic of pig production is the diversification of feeding with harvested products to reduce the consumption of concentrated feed, which represents a reduction in production costs.

The association of reintegrated families is strengthened thanks to the training and advice of SENA in the pig area.

SENA’s support and advice to CoePaz began in a pandemic, which allowed them to have stability in a period of decrease in sales and increase in supplies through the application of food diversification.
The instructor of this group of apprentices, Luis Alfredo Gómez Alarcón, maintains that: “They are a group of reintegrated people who exchanged weapons for livestock production and, against all odds, are very happy with their civilian lives, breeding pigs.
This reincorporated group has been trained in technical and environmentally favorable pig production. Likewise, their training has included a commercialization and entrepreneurship component, achieving continuity in the pig production chain.
“We are very grateful to SENA for the training it has given us in different areas, such as systems, food handling, project formulation, pig farming, as well as livestock and fish farming.” Said apprentice Ronny Alexander Traslaviña, a member of the cooperative, made up of 27 families.
