SENA Communicator General Management
Employment and entrepreneurship are part of the DNA of our Entity’s mission. One of its objectives is to connect talent with opportunities in the labor market and to promote the cultural and entrepreneurial spirit of Colombians. That is why we work to continuously improve the services offered to communities interested in creating sustainable business initiatives. SENA’s efforts aim to become the pioneer entity by generating opportunities for unemployed workers and entrepreneurs of the country.
The results of this work are very important in terms of employment, since about 25 thousand new companies registered with the Public Employment Agency to publish their vacancies and find the human talent they require. More than 800 thousand people received occupational guidance on topics such as the preparation of their resumes, recommendations for job interviews, effective networks for job search, and socio-emotional skills, among others. In addition, we were able to assign 320,274 new jobs.
"Between 2020 and 2021, through the Public Employment Agency, 320,274 new jobs were mediated."
In terms of entrepreneurship, the last year, more than 270 thousand entrepreneurs were oriented, 2,174 companies strengthened, and training was provided for more than 2,500 entrepreneurs and business people. And, between October 2020 and June 2021, we promoted the creation of 383 companies with seed capital resources for $ 46 billion, which will generate 2,224 jobs throughout the country. Additionally, we launched the virtual Business Development Center (SENA-SBDC) as a complementary channel at the service of entrepreneurs.
