Bilröst, which in the Old Norse language means the bridge that connects the world of the gods with the world of humans, is the name given to Juan García’s craft brewery. He is an entrepreneur that in 2016 launched his business idea, supported two years later with seed capital by the SENA Emprender Fund.
Juan García, manager and founder of the company, expressed: “I received advice from the Business Development Center – SBDC of SENA and seed capital from the Emprender Fund for more than 117 million pesos, which allowed us to have the equipment to make craft beers inspired by world beer cultures. We managed to revive cultures from millenary times, and already forgotten recipes with the magic that comes from the Colombian Andes, such as its coffee culture, its snow-capped mountains, and its crystalline waters.”
"In a craft brewery in Caldas, cultures, stories and experiences are connected through their products."
An example of the work that this Caldenses brewery does is the Bilröst Coffee Stout, a beer based on a style of the 50s, but mixed with flavors and aromas typical of the coffee culture, that uses hops and German malts in its recipe, European yeast, and organic Caldense coffee.
