ON THE WAY TO EXPO DUBAI, THE FAIR THAT CONNECTS EVERYTHING

Pilar Navarrete Rivera

2021/DECEMBER

.

Before writing these words, I reflected for several days on the Entity’s role in the construction of the country. Beyond a learned institutional discourse, we, as public officials, must understand our duty from a holistic perspective, which means being aware of the multiple interactions that the decisions we make imply.
It is part of a meticulous analysis of the advantages of participating in a massive, universal event of immense commercial and cultural proportions such as this world fair, just one year after the entire planet was in the hands of medical science.
It is, then, a moment in history that demands the ability to act firmly and decisively, with the security that work brings together around economic recovery, the confidence in a society that demands an ever greater desire to move forward, and above all, the unity that has always characterized this community.
What matters most is that all Colombians are part of this institution, which has supported their dreams for more than 60 years. From the morning coffee to the fabric that makes up their dresses. From the automation of industrial processes to the protection of the environment. At some point in their lives, regardless of their origin, social or cultural condition, we have forged a bond because we have believed in our people.
For this reason, we must support the SENA community that will represent the entire country in a scenario where they will show their perseverance, resilience, and creative strength. It is there where our apprentices, for example, will have the possibility of carrying out actions of cultural exchange and knowledge transfer to bring back a living experience, which will multiply in face-to-face and remote environments, in the countryside and the city.
The time has come to take those wonderful ideas developed through interaction and knowledge to a positive and enriching scenario, which will allow the generation of alliances and pave the way for companies from all over the globe to access services and human resources that make up the Entity.
SENA magically fits in a reality where talent and opportunities connect during this important event called Expo Dubai. Hence the title of this editorial.
