The First Lego League is a competition for teenagers that allows them through fun, discover science, technology, engineering, art, mathematics, and solve real problems through a meaningful and playful learning. At the end of July, the national virtual robotics event was held, organized by the Minuto de Dios University and its Social Innovation Science Park.
In the regional competition, 48 teams participated; our team, “The Last Hope”, where the Techno academy SENA, node Cúcuta, obtained its classification to the national final, in the First Lego League, all in the On-Line modality.

"Techno Academy's trainees demonstrated their passion for research and their desire to make Cúcuta and the Norte de Santander Department proud, regardless of the limitations of the current pandemic."

Thanks to the experience, preparation, training, continuity in the process and results of previous years, the North American team achieved the 4th place and a place to the international competition, which headquarters and date are yet to be defined in 2022, possibly Atlanta or Houston (United States) or Sao Paulo (Brazil) and the possibility will be studied of its realization in person.
The “Cucuteño” team “The Last Hope” is composed by 10 children with an age range between 14 to 16, belonging to schools such as: National Institute of Commerce, Guaimaral Technical Institute and Calasanz School, among others.
Techno academy wants, comprehensively, to form a new social fabric that keeps young people away from criminality, turning them into innovators and managers of digital transformation.
“The team also ranked among the four “best innovation projects nationwide”, achieving a brilliant participation in the workshop Engineer Without Borders, an event held by the University of Los Andes, annexed to the First Lego League,” says Andrés Mauricio Puentes, the leader of techno academy Cúcuta.
