The Global Institute for Green Growth (GGGI), with the support of Alliance for Accelerated Climate Transitions – UK PACT-, is currently working with SENA to achieve the design of three new technological careers in Climate Management, Natural Resources, Ecological Agricultural Management and Energy Efficiency.
It also looks to strengthen the Forest Management Technologist with the implementation of the design of specialized modules, which seeks to promote sustainable development, with low environmental impact.
“Five GGGI experts will support our institution in the design and curriculum development of these initiatives. Additionally, the project will allow instructors and professionals from SENA's environmental knowledge and electrical energy networks to appropriate new skills and knowledge necessary to impart this training,” explains Carlos Mario Estrada, SENA's General Director.
This way, the allied entities seek to promote the development of a low-carbon economy, within the framework of the Green Growth Policy of the National Government, contributing to compliance with the NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution) of Colombia, whose goal is to reduce by 51% greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.
“Our project will provide technical inputs to strengthen Colombia's path towards recovery and green economic growth. These contributions will translate into the creation of green jobs, social inclusion and the reduction of carbon emissions,”
says the official.
